The Best Malaysia’s Horror Movie 2018 (MUNAFIK 2)

Hi everyone! I hope you guys are doing well. Basically, in this post, I want to share with you my personal review and a short synopsis regarding one of my favorite Malay movies that came out last few months in cinema which called Munafik 2. For your information, Munafik 2 is much relatable to their first Munafik movie. So, if you have never watched the first movie, you might have no idea for certain scenes they display in their latest one.

Before we begin, let’s discuss about the meaning of ‘Munafik’. Actually, it is a Malay word that its origin comes from Arabic word called ‘Munafiqun’, it means hypocrisy. To be frank, this movie is more to black magic vs Islamic knowledge, but it does not entirely about religion at all. I have seen many reviews in Facebook that showing some other religions people like Indians, and Chinese tend to like the movie too. I believe this movie would be a great one to be in your movie list.

Anyway, The Munafik 2 is starring by:

  • Syamsul Yusof as Ustaz Adam (main character)
  • Maya Karin as Sakinah
  • Fizz Fairuz as Ustadz Azman
  • Nasir Bilal Khan as Abu Jar
  • Mawi as Ustadz Azhar
  • Fauzi Nawawi as Umar
  • Rahim Razali as Rahim
  • Namron as Rahman
  • Roslan Salleh as Imam Malik
  • Ku Faridah as Salmah
  • Nur Zara Sofia as Aina

This movie duration is 1 hour 44 minutes. It is directed, authored, edited,  played screen all by Syamsul Yusof, himself. This film was aired on August 30, 2018 in Malaysia, and September 26, 2018 in Indonesia. Their featured song in this movie is called “Menangislah” by Syamsul Yusof ft Mawi.

Now, let’s discuss about the synopsis of this movie:

Two years after the events in the first film, the sea of Ustaz Adam was restored after being helped by the death of his wife and son. He began to become a freelance preacher and continued his responsibility to help people affected by magic / jinn everywhere. Previous tests have taught him to offer tawadhu to the Divine. But what is misleading, Adam is always haunted by past deception about Mary’s death. Adam is also often visited by a mysterious woman who questions about God’s faith and destiny. At the same time, across the village lives a woman named Sakinah and her daughter, Aina.

Sakinah, a poor single mom in an isolated village, is haunted by an evil spirit linked to Abuja, a man with misleading religious teachings, a hypocrite and chief of heretics. Adam have to embark on a rescue mission to save Sakinah from the evil spirit and Abu Jar’s torment. Sakinah is forced to take care of her father who has a mysterious illness. Sakinah’s bad life put pressure on her and she and her son were harassed several times by the devil. Sakinah believes what she faces comes from Abu Jar, in the same village. Abu Jar has many followers and fears about the villagers. Sakinah or anyone who still holds Islam is the enemy of Abu Jar.

Abu Jar uses magic to destroy anyone who does not follow his teachings. This forced Sakinah to look for Ustaz Adam. The arrival of Ustadz Adam to the opposite village caused Abu Jar’s anger. Adam was not only surprised by what happened to the Sakinah family but also with deviant teachings of Abu Jar which deflected the faith of Muslims in the village.

For your information, Munafik 2 has become one of the best Malay films of 2018 that raised RM 21.6 million in just 4 days. Despite that, this film has also broken the record of becoming the fastest Malay film to hit the cinema.

From my personal point of view, I truly impressed with Syamsul Yusof efforts in this movie. As I watched their short trailer on Astro, Syamsul Yusof masterpiece was produced in a duration which took more than 3 months.

Despite I am not a horror movie junkie, I did enjoy every minutes of the movie. I personally feel that the first version (Munafik), is not as good as the Munafik 2. The first version was a bit hanging but comparing to the second one, it was much more better. The Munafik 2 had boosted up my adrenaline to the max and it is such a logic horror movie. Also, the jump scare scenes did not get me boring to watch this movie for the second time. Plus, the cinematography and the resolution in this movie was pretty amazing! I am proud to have a Malaysia’s film like this which has the same level like other successful International film.

Just in case you’re wondering about the rating of this movie. Here is the screenshot of Munafik 2 movie rating which contributed by 1014 people from IMDB website.  It shows that the rating is 8.0 out of 10 and definitely it worth your time watching it! Make sure you watch it ok!

Top 5 Beauty Tips from Turkey

There is no question about it, Turkish women are HOT! In terms of genes, sure genetically they may have some awesome beautiness to them, but they also have some amazing beauty secrets that are actually easy to try!

1. Wash face & Bath with Rose Water

In Turkish beauty history, the use of rosewater has been considered to be the best antidote for all skin types. Rose water is not only used for Turkish desserts but also for beauty. With plenty of antioxidants in the water, free radicals stand no chance to create more ageing signs. This means, you would have lesser wrinkles to be bothered about and the skin stays firm, tight and nice for a very long time to come. And in addition to that, with rosewater sprayed on your face or washed on the face twice a day, the dead skin cells are removed too.

Women in Turkey actually love Rose water so much, they use it to help keep their skin toned and fresh. All you have to do is boil some rose petals and cool the water or buy some pure rose water and spray your face and body with it once you step out of the shower! It helps calm breakouts and keeps your skin balanced! For those that have a sensitive complexion, the gently cleansing forces of rose water are simply perfect.

2. Sugar Wax

This is a lot easier than it sounds to create and is so effective at not only removing unwanted body hair, but also at exfoliating dead skin! Simply mix together 2 cups sugar (white), with 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup water, then boil in a pan. Let cool and when safe enough to use on your body.

Make sure you test it first with your fingers, then again if your inner wrist, just spread on an area until nice and thin, and pull off in the opposite direction of the hair growth! This will leave you with less in grown hairs and less irritation!

3. Eat a lot of Kefir

Kefir is a type of fermented yogurt which the Turkish women eat a lot. The old adage of you are what you eat works here. Kefir helps keep the digestive tract clean and clear, which means toxins are removed sooner than what you can fathom. With no toxic internals to deal with, the skin stays clear of pimples, acne and breakouts or eruptions too. This is why, fermented kefir should be tried, which is one of the best Turkish beauty products to manage well-being and health.

4. Honey Mask

Honey masks are wonderful for the face as they contain mineral salts, vitamins, and amino acids. The concept has been inherited by the Egyptians and was a very famous recipe for beauty. The moisturizing element in honey leaves the skin of the women soft and smooth. A little lemon juice would give better results for the face mask.

5. Argan Oil Massage

After removing Turkish makeup, one of the Turkish beauty tips that we learned is to massage the face with a teaspoon of argan oil and to wipe it with warm towels thereafter. This helps open the pores and to let out all the dirt accumulated in the pores. Argan oil has minerals in it which also helps replenish the skin and rejuvenate it too. So why not use it once or twice a week, depending on your skin type, and before a shower for the best skin to have? Makes sense, doesn’t it?

KGB Burger VS Crispy Chicken

CRAVING FOR BURGER??!?

CRAVING FOR NICE CRISPY CHICKEN???!?

Hey! Does anyone here always have a trouble to find the best fast food restaurant in Kuala Lumpur to fulfil your uncontrollable crave? Oh, we are in the same boat! In this post, I am going to share with you the best place to go fix the typical craving strike!

The front view of KGB restaurant

In short, I went to The Gardens mall after class for leisure. If you are not sure where The Gardens located, it is just right next to Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur. You can go to The Gardens without a need to exit the Mid Valley Mega mall but you can just enter The Gardens from the 1st floor of the mall. Indeed, I am such a fast food lover because pizza is my bae, and burger is another half soul. LOL. Let’s focus back to our main point. I saw the huge alphabets showing KGB from distance and felt attracted to the appearance of the restaurant. It looked like a mamak corner in a mall, and casual but it seems to be more exclusive at the same time.

IS IT HALAL? UMM….

For your information, KGB is a HALAL restaurant! All the ingredients used are safe to be eaten and you have nothing to be worried about. Frankly, I can rate their service 9 out of 10. The food seems very clean and tidy. Also the cleanliness of the restaurant is 10/10. They cleaned up the trash as soon as the customer leave the table, which is quite organised. Meanwhile, it took only less than 10 minutes for the food to reach me. Bravo!

So, I went there to check out this restaurant and got to know their actual name was Killer Gourmet Burgers (abbreviated as KGB). Obviously, their main serve is burger.

For the first timer folks like me, I think it would be nice if we have a guideline on how to order it. So here you go:

  1. There will be a table placed right in front of the restaurant. So, all you have to do is to check which menu you are interested with.
  2. Go to the counter, and place your order.
  3. After paying, you will get the order number and place it on the table. The staff will come to your table and serve the food to you.
  4. Few minutes later, when all your food orders have arrived. They will take back the number and you can enjoy the meal!
  5. Oh, don’t forget to read “bismillah”. Hehe.

Back to the story. After going through the menu list, I decided to try out:

The Shack (Chicken) – RM 13.50

Main ingredients: Grilled Chicken, Sharp Cheddar, Shack Sauce

Chicken Golden Salted Eggyolk (Drumstick+Wings) – RM 13.90

Served with some half-spicy pickles

My first impression was, it is going to be a normal grilled burger while the salted egg yolk chicken will taste like a normal fried chicken I always had. After getting the food, I could say my perception changed 50%! There is a KGB trademark on top of the burger and its really exciting me to eat it!

Getting a close up to the burger, frankly, the bun is very soft! The grilled chicken is a bit dry but it does not ruin the taste at all and also worth its price. Besides that, the burger portion is a medium-sized and I am pretty sure your tummy can get full after eating the whole burger. Even though they serve the food quick, however the meal was fresh and hot. It is satisfying.

Next, the chicken wings and drumsticks! It is very tempting! They put some pickles there and I thought it tasted like a normal pickle that we local normally eat at Char Kuey Teow stall. For real, it burnt my tongue! Well, its good for those who wanna add some spicy taste into their bites. Not only that, as you can see that I added some sauces on top of it. It’s a self-service. You can choose any sauces you want, and there are 4 choices: Chillies, ketchup, honey mustard and thousand islands. You can put it as much as you want! I love sauces btw, I wish to finish the whole bottle. I wish. LOL. Last but not least, I cannot deny that the crispiness of these chicken can beat the KFC spicy chicken. You must try it!

Overall, KGB is a great restaurant to go chill out with friends. The environment is very chill and relax. If you are looking forward to trying out their menus, you can check out the details below. Hope you have a pleasant time reading and have a good day!
